Good-bye Biloxi. We're praying for you.

Thanks to Dean Chang, our prayer leader, for his daily prayer guides. Here's his posting for Dec. 22.

1. Prepare our Hearts

Lord, prepare our hearts to be peaceful. Your peace goes beyond
anything we can understand because You do not give like the world
gives. Thank You for allowing our hearts to be at peace because of the
power of the One You sent to us – the Counselor, the Holy Spirit. May
our anxious thoughts be replaced by peaceful ones as we wait for the
coming of the Christ Child. "Let the peace of Christ rule in your
hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be
thankful" (Colossians 3:15). (See also: Proverbs 14:30; John
14:25-27; Philippians 4:6-7)

2. FEMA Trailers

Governor Haley Barbour is asking for more time for thousands of
Mississippians still living in FEMA trailers. Right now, there is a
February 28th deadline for residents to move out of FEMA trailers and
into permanent housing. On Monday, a spokesperson said the governor
has sent FEMA a letter asking that the deadline be pushed back until
February of 2008.

Right now 26,427 Mississippians are living in FEMA trailers. Another
4,961 are in mobile homes with 84 percent set up on private property.

"I can't find anything right now," said Mary Jane Nixon, a FEMA
trailer resident who has been looking for a place to rent. "It's hard
because they don't have very many left to stay in."

Pray that the people that need these trailers can still live in them.
Although it may be hard, imagine yourself with no place to live.
Praise God for his many blessings to all of us.
